The Department for the South at Forum PA 2026: the Single SEZ at the centre of stands and talks
The Single Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as a driver of Public Administration modernisation and as a model of impact-oriented policy design. This is the focus of the talk entitled “The Single SEZ as a model for Public Administration”, scheduled for Tuesday 9 June 2026, from 16:00 to 17:00, as part of Forum PA 2026, which will take place from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the La Nuvola Convention Centre in Rome. This year’s edition is dedicated to the theme “For a Public Administration that creates the future”.
The speakers will include Giuseppe Di Giacomo Pepe, Head of the Technical Secretariat of Undersecretary of State Luigi Sbarra, and Giuseppe Romano, Head of the Department for the South.
The talk will offer a strategic perspective on the Single SEZ as a tool for attracting investment and as an institutional infrastructure capable of enabling a new relationship between the State, local areas and the productive system. The discussion will focus on administrative simplification, the digitalisation of procedures, the coordination of responsibilities, and the administration’s capacity to support development processes through clear rules, faster timelines, and a stronger focus on results.
The Department for the South will also take part in Forum PA 2026 with a permanent presence at the stand of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers within the exhibition area. Citizens, public officials and businesses will be able to obtain information materials, ask questions and engage directly with the Department’s team. This will provide an opportunity to strengthen institutional dialogue and to build new synergies between central government, local territories and the productive system.
Forum PA 2026, organised by FPA, is confirmed as one of the leading national events dedicated to innovation in Public Administration, public services and territorial systems. This year’s theme highlights the need for a Public Administration that is not only capable of responding to needs, but also of anticipating challenges, generating public value, and supporting the country’s transformation processes.
